Short: How to Obtain AmigaOS Port of OpenSSH 3.0.2 Author: eric@chernoff.org (Eric Chernoff) Uploader: eric chernoff org (Eric Chernoff) Type: comm/tcp Architecture: generic -- IMPORTANT NOTE FROM AMINET TEAM Contrary to what this readme claims, uploading SSH programs (i.e. a port of the OpenSSH tools) to Aminet is perfectly possible. However it might very well be true that this exact version of OpenSSH contains algorithms or software patented or illegal to export or import to certain countries. OpenSSH 3.8 and later should be cleared of any such issues. Please refer to http://openssh.org for more information. -- Since posting SSH programs to Aminet is not possible due to legal reasons, this note is posted to point you to the URL from which you can download OpenSSH 3.0.2 for your Amiga: http://www.chernoff.org/amiga/amiga-openssh.lha This archive contains a fully-tested and functional OpenSSH client for your Amiga, as well as non-tested SCP and SFTP clients (use at your own risk). This archive also contains a partially-tested, partially- functional SSHD server for your Amiga. While I was unable to get the SSHD server to function as it should/would on UNIX platforms, I was able to find a way to use the SSHD server to secure/encrypt a telnet channel for you so that you could have secure telnet sessions (similiar to SSH). Full instructions are in the Readme in the amiga-openssh.lha archive. Good luck!
