Short: Problems with RDB-Salv? Debug tool. Author: Angela.Schmidt@stud.uni-karlsruhe.de (Angela Schmidt) Architecture: m68k-amigaos RDB-Salv is a useful tool for people who have lost their RigidDiskBlock. Usually, RDB-Salv is able to recover all AmigaDOS partitions of such hard disks. In order to scan your hard disk for lost data, RDB-Salv has to find out the size of the media. However, some hard disk systems don't support TD_GETGEOMETRY or return wrong values. *blame* In order to work around these problems, RDB-Salv provides an installer script that asks for the name of your hard disk driver and that writes some tooltypes to the icon of RDB-Salv. To improve this installer script, I need your help! Please start rdbtools-debug using the following line rdbtools-debug e.g. rdbtools-debug scsi.device 0 and send me the output. Please note that I only need the output of _one_ hard disk per device driver. But if you have two different host adapters, it would be nice to receive the output of two hard disks - one connected to the 1st adapter and the other connected to the 2nd adapter. I already have the output of the following device drivers. So please don't send me more information about the following device drivers - except if you have a different device version: Driver name Version ----------- ------- 2060scsi.device 7.7 ALF.device 2.13 cybscsi.device 1.17 dracoscsi.device 1.1 evolution.device 3.0, 3.2 gvpscsi.device 3.7, 3.15, 4.13, 4.15 omniscsi.device 1.9, 1.10 scsi.device 6.6, 37.64, 40.4, 40.5, 40.12, 40.20, 104.2 vobscsi.device 37.3 warpdrive.device 40.66 z3scsi.device 5.997, 5.1034 ------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you very much for your cooperation! ------------------------------------------------------------- If you are curious about RDB-Salv, see the readme files contained in this archive and download RDB-Salv from my homepage. There will be a new, bugfixed version very soon - probably before 10-July-1996. http://home.pages.de/~Angela/ (My Homepage) http://home.pages.de/~Angela/rdbsalv.html (The RDB-Salv Page) http://www.teuto.de/~markus/RDB-Salv/ (Download outside WIN) http://home.pages.de/~zza/RDB-Salv/ (Download from WIN)
