Short: Reboots if HD not found.. Author: Kåre Johansen Uploader: Kåre Johansen Type: util/boot Version: 1.0 Requires: OS 2.0 or higher Architecture: m68k-amigaos Copyright --------- CheckDrive is copyrighted by me Dr. Ice/Lisence (Kåre Johansen) in 1997, all rights reserved.. The author may NOT be held responsible if CheckDrive should crash or damage your system, by missuse of this program and/or manual.. Distribution ------------ CheckDrive is copyrighted but released as FreeWare, that means that you can do what ever you want to do with it. But, you may NOT sell this product for profit, except from diskcharge and mailing expences.. First Word ---------- CheckDrive was made because I was getting tired of SlowBoot, and its great power to reboot my machine.. SlowBoot didn't do what I wanted it to do at all.. So I made CheckDrive to express my needs (hehe).. Since the wether is not as good as it should be up here in the Northern Norway, the power always fails. Sometimes when I come home to my beloved Amiga, and find out that my Amiga (Witch I have my BBS on) is down, and have a fine looking requester saying; "PLEASE INSERT BACKUP IN ANY DRIVE".. Wow, its cool knowing my board has been down all night.. Introduction ------------ Everybody that has a BIG IDE-HD knows that it can be a pain in the neck when they doesn't boot up at all. This is because large IDE-HD's takes alot of spinning time before it starts, but, this never happens because the system marks this HD for not being there and tells the HD that it's forgotten. Thats where this program comes in.. Tested ------ This program has been tested on the following computers with 2 HD's: 1 IDE and 1 SCSI HD A4000/030 SCSI BOOT HD A3000/030 SCSI BOOT HD Usage ----- The usage is quite easy, just write: CheckDrive DEVICE (CheckDrive DH0: <- Don't forget the ":") If CheckDrive can find this DEVICE, it will boot up as normaly, but if this DEVICE is not found then it will reboot your computer. Lets say your IDE partition is called: DH4, DH5 -> and your SCSI partitions are : DH0, DH1 -> Q: You will then know what partition you should use with this program?.. A: Isn't my partition called DH0: ????.. NO, its not your SCSI HD its wrong with, but your IDE HD. You may use one of your IDE partition for this.. e.g: CheckDrive DH4: OR CheckDrive DH5: Set your HD/DEVICE, and add it to your STARTUP-SEQUENCE file (Below SetPatch), e.g: > STARTUP-SEQUENCE < C:SetPatch C:CheckDrive DH4: > STARTUP-SEQUENCE < Don't forget the ":" when using this program.. Thanks ------ Thanks to Ren Depth for testing this program.. Thanks to Wouter for making AmigaE.. Greetings --------- Greetings to all the dudes I know..
