Short: Fixes SCSI problems with Blizzard 1230/III Author: platon@cum.de (Chris Hodges) Uploader: platon cum de (Chris Hodges) Type: util/misc Version: V1.6 (25-Apr-97) Replaces: util/misc/1230ScsiFix* Requires: Blizzard 1230/MK-III with SCSI-Kit Architecture: m68k-amigaos Introduction ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a small patch which will fix some problems occuring on some machines with Blizzard 1230/III and SCSI-Kit. This 'bug' causes the controller to perform very slowly. The patch just turns off the caches during scsi chip accesses. However, this made a change of the transfer rate of under 80 KB/s to 2,6 MB/s of a friend's harddisk. The patch can be made resident. If you don't use BlizKick you *have* to REMOVE the MAPROM Jumper on your board to avoid losing the RomTag at every bootup! NOTE: The blue stripes showing up in previous versions during booting have been removed. Removal of the patch is possible both during reboot (by pressing the left mouse button and not the right one), or using "1230ScsiFix OFF". A BlizKick Module is also supplied. I would really appreciate, if you could tell me, if the patch does its job on your machine. Requirements ~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1230ScsiStub needs Kick 2.04 or higher. Obviously also requires a Blizzard SCSI Controller.
