Short: Automatic updating of WB drawer windows Author: elena@elena-fractals.it (Elena Novaretti), tanti@intercom.it (Massimo Tantignone) Uploader: tanti intercom it (Massimo Tantignone) Type: util/wb Version: 51.1 Requires: AmigaOS 4.0 Update 1+ (PPC version), AmigaOS 3.9 BB1+ (68k version) Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.9.1; ppc-amigaos AutoUpdateWB 51.1 (23.7.2005) This small patch makes the Workbench automatically update the contents of a drawer window whenever a file is created/renamed/deleted inside its associated directory by any other means than the Workbench itself. It is especially useful when dealing with iconless files in a "Show All Files" window, but it also affects real icons just like you would expect. For instance, if you issue a Delete command from Shell, you'll see the target file disappear from the window if it had a "fake" icon; if it had a real icon instead, it will stay displayed until you delete its .info file as well. However, if you first delete the .info file, the displayed icon will immediately revert to the default one for that file type. As another example, you could extract files from an archive to RAM: and see each of them appear in real time in the Ram Disk window, as it is extracted. Latest changes: AutoUpdateWB 51.1 (23.7.2005) - First native PPC version for AmigaOS 4. - The patch should now be completely safe and legal with any version of dos.library (thanks to Colin Wenzel for the useful advices). AutoUpdateWB 45.3 (5.5.2003) - The "FTP:" handler is now ignored by AutoUpdateWB, since it could misbehave when patched.
