FMS Operation
Basic Operation |

1. Mode select Click FMS mode select button or, right click on FMS screen to show the pop-up menu and select mode from the pop-up menu. The indication lamp of the button of current selected mode turns on. 2. Data input Input the data to scratch pad by clicking alpha/numeric key pad, then click the corresponding data input button on right or left side of the screen. 3. Data select / item select Click the corresponding data input button on right or left side of the screen. |

MENU MODE |
|
1. NEW Discard current selected flight plan and make new one. 2. LOAD Load flight plan. You can use both NavDash format (ndp) and GPS 1.1 format. However, only longitude and latitude data are loaded for GPS 1.1 format. Therefore, you have to input other data manually. 3. SAVE Save flight plan. The name in NAVDATA column of AIRCRAFT SETUP MODE screen is used for the name of the flight plan. However, if you input another name in the scratch pad, it is used instead. 4. OPTION You can adjust the time interval of refleshing ND screen and toggle HOT KEY function. 5. INFO Displays version information. 6. EXIT EXIT NavDash. |

AIRCARFT SETUP MODE |
|
1. MODEL Input a name of an aircraft or so on. You can use this column freely because it doesn't affect other data. 2. NAV DATA The name in this column used as a file name of the flight plan. 3. CLIMB V/S (Climb rate in feet per minute) 4. CLIMB SPD (Climb speed in IAS knot) 5. CRUISE ALT (Cruise altitude in feet) 6. CRUISE SPD (Cruise speed in IAS knot or MACH) 7. DESCENT V/S (Descent rate in feet per minute) 8. DESCENT SPD (Descent speed in IAS knot) 9. SPD REST (Speed Restriction) * For speed, if you use three digits figure like nnn. it is recognised as IAS and .nn means MACH. |

DEP/ARR AIRPORT SETUP MODE |

1. DEP AIRPORT (Departure airport) Input ID ( ICAO:four letter cord) and click the left upper (L1) button. The screen turns to runway select screen. Select runway. 2. ARR AIRPORT (Arrival airport ) Use the same manner with 1. Use the right upper button (R1) to select. 3. SID / STAR If SID / STAR data already exist, you can select them by clicking L6 / R6 respectively. |

WAYPOINT SETUP MODE |
|
1. Add waypoint Input waypoint(VOR/NDB/FIX) ID of your select to the scratch pad and click the left button corresponding to the column indicating "----". If the ID is not unique, the display turns into waypoint select screen. 2. Insert waypoint Input waypoint ID and click the button corresponding to the desired position. 3. Delete waypoint Input DELETE to the scratch pad. (If the scratch pad is empty, clicking DEL button does the same action) Then click the button corresponding to the waypoint which you would like to delete. 4. Move waypoints Input MOVE-UP or MOVE-DOWN to the scratch pad and click the button corresponding to the waypoint which you would like to move. * To input "-" from keypad, click +/- button two times. 5. Set speed / altitude Set speed / altitude at the waypoint. (1) Speed : nnn or .nn (2) Altitude : /nnnnn or /FLnnn (3) Both : nnn/nnnnn or .nn/nnnnn or nnn/FLnnn or .nn/FLnnn (4) Clear : CLEAR *1 NAVAIDs frequency are not yet set as GPS 1.1 format flight plan is loaded. You can set the frequency by inputing it with format described below and click right side buttons. VOR : VORnnn.nn NDB : NDBnnn *2 Not all the speed and altitude data for each waypoint are mandatory. You can skip unnecessary data;you only have to input desired data. *3 The route is indicated as a dotted line as you input flight plan before "execute". |

EXEC |
|
The white lamp of EXEC button indicates that flight plan is not yet executed. The route on ND is shown as a dotted line. As the flight plan is executed by clicking EXEC button, the route indication turns into a heavy line. To use LNAV / VNAV, you have to activate the flight plan by clicking EXEC. |
