NHSound v2.0 20.10.1994 NHSound is a simple program which adds sounds to Nethack. It supports only regular Sound Blaster, but has been tested on SB Pro, SB 16, GUS, Proaudio Spectrum 16 and Logitech Soundman. It also requires enough XMS memory to hold all the samples. To install NHSound copy all accompanied files to your NetHack directory (Or any other directory, but you must CD into that directory when you load NHSOUND, as NHSOUND only searches its files from current directory) and run NHSETUP. It allows you to set correct port, IRQ and DMA channel for you soundcard (choose Conf SB). It can also be used to change the samples (see below). Choose Save & Exit to exit NHSETUP. Next run NHSOUND. It loads all the samples defined by NHSETUP to XMS and stays in memory. Now run NetHack and there will be some sounds. To remove NHSOUND from memory just run it again and it will unload itself.
