NewsWatcher 2.0 =============== July 12, 1995 NewsWatcher has gone "final". We are no longer using "beta" version numbers. There are only a few minor changes since the last beta version 2.0b27. Errors fixed and other changes ------------------------------ If your quote string was empty, NewsWatcher wouldn't let you post, because it mistakenly thought every line of your message was quoted text. Fixed. If you opened an article which contained "spoiler characters", then closed the article, then opened it again, NewsWatcher lost track of the spoilers and didn't display the article in sections properly. Fixed. If you used Internet Config, using NewsWatcher's preferences dialog to turn off the default folder for extracting binaries didn't work properly. Fixed. The Help key on the extended keyboard, Command-?, and Command-/ now open the first NewsWatcher help topic, the one titled "NewsWatcher Help". In the message window detailed view, the field labels "Message body:" and "Signature:" are always displayed. A few people were typing the body of their messages in the signature field. Perhaps this will help avoid that mistake. Apple says that programs should not try to use Open Transport on 68K Macs until version 1.1 is released. For this reason, NewsWatcher uses Open Transport only if it is installed and you are running on a Power Macintosh.
