Subject: ZDist Version 0.10 for Windows NT available This message is to announce the availability of a version of ZDist for Windows NT. This software allows a Windows NT machine to be an ANSI/ISO Z39.50 version 2 compatible server and client. ZDist for WIndows NT Version 0.10 is based on CNIDR ZDist Version 1.02(beta 1.1). Only executables for Intel-based systems are available at the moment. Executables for MIPS systems and DEC Alpha systems will be available as soon as we get Microsoft Visual C++ 2.0 for these platforms. The software may be FTP'd from emwac.ed.ac.uk in the directory pub/ZDist. There is one ZIP file called ZDI386.ZIP. Source for ZDist for Windows NT Version 0.10 is available in ZDSOURCE.ZIP in the same directory. Features in Version 0.10 ======================== * The server in this release only supports one type of search engine called a SCRIPT search engine, which calls a command line utility of your choice as the search. This software has been produced as part of the European Microsoft Windows NT Academic Centre (EMWAC) project. EMWAC has been set up to support and act as a focus for Windows NT within European academia.
