DESCRIPTION



Aerotours Dominicano was founded in 1973 and began operations the following year with Constellations, initially flying passengers on non-scheduled flights. Later it mainly flew cargo within the Caribbean and to Central America, from it's base in Santo Domingo. Its Constellations were in service until the early 1980s when they were replaced by B-720 and 707 aircraft. It also briefly used a Caravelle before ceasing operations in 1989. This N8711E Boeing 720 is painted as seen in Santo Domingo "Las Americas" during 1985.

First Flight was Oct. 24 1961, delivered to Eastern on Jan. 08 1962.

Returned to Boeing on Jan. 19 1970

Purchased by Calair Germany and re regestered as D-ACIR on Dec. 30 1970

Purchased by Club America on Oct. 29 1972 back as N8711E.

Purchased by International Air Leases during Oct. 1973.

Leased by Ambassadair on Dec. 22 1973 and named "Miss Indy"

Sub-Leased by American Trans Air during March 1981.

Later purchased by Aerotours Dominicano and occasionally leased to the Windwalkers Travel Club.
