HISTORY:

In 1984, Air Midwest was the first customer in the U.S to launch the SAAB-Fairchild 
340. N342AM, s/n 011, was the first aircraft, and was received in December 17th, 1984 
which has joined more 4 units of the type up to 1986. The last delivery was N922MA s/n 077.
By 1988, because of the merger with American Eagle, the SAAB's were taken by AE and painted 
into the larger carrier colors.
