Learjet-60 Panel Version 1.0 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 by Matthias Lieberecht Lieberecht@cw-net.de August 29, 1998 Thank you for download this panel. I designed it with photos of the new Bombardier Learjet-60 cockpit and I have tried to build it as exact as possible. The Lear 60 is the biggest model of the Learjet Series and the replacement model for the Lear 55. The cockpit is completely different to the Lear 45. Note: I couldn't test the panel with the monster 3D-card. So I don't know if it works correct with it. Sorry :-( The instructions for the GPS are an extract from Chuck Dome's help file. Installation: You need to have installed Flight Simulator FS98 Converter. VBRUN300.DLL is required for programming the GPS. Unzip the gauges.zip to your Flighsim main Gauges directory. If you already have some of the gauges you don't need to delete them. They should be the same. Unzip the Panel.zip and replace the panel.cfg file to the panel folder of your favourite aircraft. For more reality use a Lear-60. Some of the required gauge files are shipped with FS98. If you renamed or deleted one of these original files you could send me an Email with a short description, which instrument not correct work. I will send you another config and gauge file. Instructions: Display 2 shows a HSI in Arc-Mode. Above this HSI you can see the readouts for the airspeed and mach. Right of them are the readouts for the altimeters. Below them are readouts for the windspeed and direction. Right of them is a digital readout that shows the above-ground-level (AGL). It starts counting at about 2000ft and turns to red at about 150ft. Left beside the Autopilot as a small "GPS" toggle. If you press this toggle you will see a GPS on display 2. This simultaneously tracks seven waypoints on a radar-style screen with selectable range. The default waypoints will take you on a tour of the San Francisco Bay area. Included is a little utility (COLGPS.EXE in your Gauge folder) that reprograms the waypoints. Also, if you enter a set of waypoints you wish to keep, you may simply copy the resulting gauge Colgps.gau to a new name (like, maybe, NYCGPS.GAU for the New York City area). COLGPS.EXE (this programm must be in your Gauges folder!!!): This little utility reprograms the waypoints in a simple and, hopefully, self-explanatory way. It was written with Visual Basic 3.0 and requires the VBRUN300.DLL file to be in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subfolder. If you don't have this file, it can be obtained from numerous sources, including the "Must Have Files" library at www.flightsim.com. Upon running the program, you will be presented with a list of the seven waypoints and their current values. You may change each waypoint's name, its latitude, and its longitude. Coordinates are entered in text "boxes" in both degrees and minutes. Minutes can be fractional. You may obtain coordinates from maps or by "slewing" around in FS98 and reading them from the window. Please be careful entering data and always click N or S and E or W before clicking the "SEND" button to change a waypoint. Display 2 HSI and the GPS could switched off completely in the menu. Then you can use this display i.e. for a moving map. Credits: I would like to thank: Harald Geier and Helmut Busch for some of the used gauges. Chuck Dome for his nice GPS gauge. Feel free to send feedback or comments. I'm looking forward to your Mails to know in which part of the world this panel is used. Matthias Lieberecht Lieberecht@cw-net.de
