VASP Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante PP-SBI ca.1973 for FS5.x 95 and 98 ============================================================================= VASP paint by: Rafael Zimmermann Original EMB-110 model by: Marty Baclawski & Tony Bolton HISTORY: By 1973, when Embraer was relasing the 16-seat commuter turboprop Bandeirante, VASP acompained of TransBrasil was one of the first customers for the aircraft. Folowing government orders, both airlines would use these plane for short routes serving small cities. But, the activity, called the RIN plan, wasn't sucessfull when being operated by larger airlines and small airplanes. So, in 1976, new airlines were created: Nordeste Linhas Aereas and TAM Regional Airlines, both with TransBrasil and VASP capital and aircraft respectively. VASP fleet of Bandeirante passed to be operated by TAM in 1976, and finished services with TAM in 1990. They can be still flying nowadays by other smaller airlines. VASP ANNOUNCES THEIR BANDEIRANTE'S (1973 ad, full text) "On the wings of the Bandeirante, VASP partecipates of the national integration" "VASP, partecipating of the effort of national integartion carries daily on their Bandeirante's a big number of passengers for all the interior of the Country reaching the most desertic points. The Bandeirante is a turboprop aircraft that overall is the result of the criativity and technology from EMBRAER. It's part of VASP politics and of the plan of interiorization and development of the commerce of the State stabilish daily routes wit the citis with more than 100.000 inhabitants, 300 Km far from the capital. The result of this work already presents sensational advances. VASP Bandeirante's have already carried 58,300 passengers in 8.939 flight hours in an extension of 13.817Km on its lines, what gives a gain per Km of 21.234.198 passengers/Km carried. This is today's Brazil, an undeniedble truth. And EMBREAER and VASP are proud to partecipate of this truth."
