CFS MISSION EDITOR VERSION 1.0.0 NOTE to BETA TESTERS - IF YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED VERSION 0.0.6, Install MISSED090_UPD.ZIP first followed by MISSED100_UPD.ZIP - IF YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED VERSION 0.9.0, Install MISSED100_UPD.ZIP only. - ALTERNATIVELY, you can remove any previous version and do a complete re-install using CFSME_100.ZIP This is an alternative to MS EXCEL97 Mission editor for CFS. This application does not require EXCEL and can create as well as load mission files in the CFS format. To run CFS Mission Editor you must have VB5 runtime installed. These files are NOT included Other than application specific, files included in this archive are required for database operations. FIXED/ENHANCED since version 0.9.0 - "Path Not Found" errors. You can now install CFS Mission Editor any place you like. If you move files around afterwards, you may be prompted for the new location of specific files however, this will happen only once and the new locations will be stored in the registry. - Index/Array errors when cancelling Combo box selections. These occurred if you moved the mouse from a combo box without making a valid selection. - Moving Ground Unit locations. Point, Click and Drag the circle on the Ground Unit map to move the unit to its new location. - View ground layout patterns. Double click the name a a ground unit you have added to the map and a display will be drawn showning approximate locations of each unit. - Names and Tips can now be added for each waypoint. REPORTED PROBLEMS - Several people have reported problems with saving and loading missions. In particular, waypoint locations change during subsequent saves and loads. I have not been able to duplicate this problem. - Several have reported problems with the location of certain airfields being misplaced. In particular fields can appear in the middle of the ocean/sea. The only way I have been able to duplicate this is by changing the Font Size to SMALL. CFS Mission Editor will not work properly if the Font Size is anything but LARGE. Check your setting by (1) right clicking the desk top, (2) selecting Properties and (3)clicking the Settings tab. There is no easy alternative nor fix for this problem. - Adding aircraft and airfields to the editor is not possible (I think). Each requires a code that is used by CFS. I have no way of knowing what this code should be and hence the editor is limitted to what I have been able to copy out of the MS Excel editor.
