TZO makes it easier for others when connecting to your PC, since they can use a true Internet Domain Name to connect, and not an ever changing IP address. With TZO, you can get a subdomain under TZO.COM, TZO.NET, TZO.ORG and TZO.CC, MyModem.Com, MyCableModem.com and over 10 other vanity domains - or you can choose to link a private domain to a Dynamic or Static IP address. TZO works great with Remote Control applications, Video Phone applications like Cu-SeeMe, NetMeeting and Internet Phone, as well with all the popular Web, FTP, and Mail servers. TZO runs on Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, as well as Linux, Unix, Mac, OS/2 and also has a Web Browser Client that allows any Operating System with a browser to use the TZO Dynamic DNS Servers. TZO also works with Private domains and allows a user to host their own Private domain from a home or work PC, even with a Dynamic IP address assignment from their Internet Service Provider. Notes to Reviewer: TZO Internet Naming System - Release Version 1.51 March 22, 2000 Updated Items in this Release - Version 1.51 -------------------------------------------- Fixed Uninstall Bug that didnt remove registry settings Added 10 New Vanity domains for users to choose from including: MyLinuxServer.net MyLinuxPC.net MyHomeLinux.com MyFTPServer.com MyHomeServer.com MyHighSpeed.com My-Place.org MyNetwork.org My-Computer.org MyOwnCompany.com Known Issues with TZO Client: -------------------------------------- Cable Modem connection type is the best option if your ISP changes IP Addresses often. The CABLE MODEM connection type will check the IP Address and update every 10 minutes if it has changed. It is OK to leave the TZO Client on Cable Modem Mode for almost any connection type. MS Proxy 2.0 users and other various Internet users may see CPU time rise to 100% when using TZO. You should try disable other Internet Related programs like Dialup Networking Monitors, NetMedic and related programs. MS Proxy users should check with the Microsoft Website for more information See http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q174/7/85.asp If TZO client shows "Waiting for Internet Connection", you either do NOT have an IP Address, or you may be in DIALUP MODEM connection type, and not dialed in. Please check the connection type and try rebooting the PC. Windows NT and 2000 Service: When running TZO as an NT or Windows 2000 service, Logging off will cause the TZO Service to shutdown. You should set the TZO SIGNON/SIGNOFF options to "Leave your IP address on the Server". This will keep the IP Address in the DNS when the user logs out. Windows 2000 Issues: TZO works with no problems on Windows 2000 Final Version When running the TZO Client as a service, after a reboot, the service will start, but the TZO Client User Interface may not start. You can start this manually, by running TZO Client from the Start Menu, or you can place a shortcut to the TZO Client in the Startup folder. New TZO Services: ----------------- We are now registering domains! Sign up with TZO and we can take care of the domain registration for you! Running Linux?? Get the latest TZO PERL version from ftp://ftp2.tzo.com You can now add the Mail Store and Forward services to your TZO Account. For those of you with Servers on Cable and xDSL or Dialup lines, this is a great addition to have. The Store and Forward service automatically stores all mail to your domain and forwards it to your server when it's online. This unique service allows your mail server to be down for extended periods of time, yet, all mail is stored and then forwarded to your Server when it comes back online! The new store and forward option also allows those of you with blocked ports to run your Mail server on a port other than 25. For more information on the Mail Store and Forward Service, please see the TZO Website. The Store and Forward works with ALL Mail Servers, from Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac, and more.
