Often, these services are "free" with no apparent strings attached. IMPACT: Vulnerabilities affecting DoD networks may be disclosed to untrusted companies and individuals. Vulnerability information could be used at a later date to obtain access into DoD networks. SOLUTION: DoD sites are encouraged to raise awareness about network security services that may expose vulnerabilities of the NIPRNET. Also, DoD sites are encouraged to pursue DoD vulnerability assessment services from the ASSIST, other recognized DoD organizations or contractors with a valid contract. When contractors are used, at the very least obtain a written non-disclosure agreement. For further information please contact ASSIST. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ASSIST is an element of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Global Operations and Security Center (GOSC), which provides service to the entire DoD community.
