Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7058d, the SCO UnixWare 7 mccntl Supplement, provides the following corrections and enhancement: ptf7058c provides the following corrections and enhancement: (1) mccntl -s was fixed, which previously reported back an incorrect number of storage slots when used with a tape library. (2) A new argument is provided, -t, that enables the user to specify which tape drive to use on tape library devices that contain more than one drive. The -t argument is used as follows: mccntl -t The first tape drive is 1. Subsequent tape drives are numbered consecutively. (3) mccntl -e was fixed, which previously failed with an invalid drive address message. The reported error message is: ERROR: Invalid source element 241, valid range 1-8 ptf7058d only provides the new option of installing the ptf in quiet mode. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf7058d.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the SLS package to your system using these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7058d.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7058d # rm /tmp/ptf7058d Alternatively, this SLS package may be installed in quiet mode, that is, without displaying the release notes and asking for confirmation. To do this, use these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7058d.Z # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7058d all # rm /tmp/ptf7058d 3. There is no need to reboot the system after installing this SLS package. The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in: /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7058/install/ptf7058.txt Removal Instructions -------------------- 1. As root, remove the SLS package using these commands: $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf7058 2. There is no need to reboot the system after removing this SLS package.
