Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7610d, the UnixWare 7.1.1 st01 Driver fixes all problems listed below. SLS ptf7610a addressed the following: - tapecntl -c n /dev/rmt/ntape1 (where n is 0 to 3) does not control compression. SLS ptf7610b only adds the option to install in quiet mode. SLS ptf7610c now installs on UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters Release 7.1.1. SLS ptf7610d additionally addresses the following: - KMA corruption in the st01 driver. Contents -------- /etc/conf/pack.d/st01/Driver.o Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS ptf7610d should only be installed on: UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.1 Unixware 7 NonStop Clusters Release 7.1.1 This SLS will not install on top the Data Center Feature Supplement (DCAP). It is not necessary as these problems do not exist in the st01 driver included in DCAP. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Download the ptf7610d.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7610d.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7610d # rm /tmp/ptf7610d Alternatively, this SLS package may be installed in quiet mode, that is, without displaying the release notes and asking for installation confirmation. To do this, use these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7610d.Z # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7610d all # rm /tmp/ptf7610d 3. Reboot the system after installing this package. The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in: /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7610/install/ptf7610.txt Removal Instructions -------------------- 1. As root, remove the package using these commands: $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf7610 2. Reboot the system after removing this package.
