Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7619c, the UnixWare 7.1.1 psm_apic Driver Supplement and NSC 7.1.1+IP dependent node install supplement, addresses the following problems: 1. On machines with an 8-way Intel Sabre motherboard, interrupts are not distributed to the eighth processor. 2. Installation of UnixWare 7.1.1 hangs on systems with clock speed greater than or equal to 1Ghz. 3. ptf7619b hangs some non 8-way systems. 4. Support of UnixWare Non-Stop Clusters dependent node installation using the new Intel PRO/1000 F and PRO/1000 T Server Adapters. 5. Support for network installation of Unixware 7.1.1 using PRO/1000 Adapters. Cut the boot floppies and a Supplemental diskette: # dd if=ptf7619.new.boot.img1 of=/dev/rdsk/f03ht bs=32k # dd if=ptf7619.new.boot.img2 of=/dev/rdsk/f03ht bs=32k # uncompress ptf7619c.Z # dd if=ptf7619c of=/dev/rdsk/f03ht bs=32k <== Supplemental diskette Use the boot floppies to install the system. Near the end of the installation, you will be prompted for a ptf diskette. At this point, insert the Supplementary diskette in the floppy drive and choose "Install A PTF". For updated support of network installation of Unixware 7.1.1 using PRO/1000 Adapters, new netinstall floppies are provided. Please check the README.ptf7619c for details. NOTE: that ptf7619c itself isn't applicable and can't be installed on NSC systems. So the 1Ghz support does not apply for NSC systems. For support of UnixWare Non-Stop Clusters dependent node installation using the the new Intel PRO/1000 F and PRO/1000 T Server Adapters, new boot and netinstall images are provided. Please check the README.ptf7619c for details. 1. Download the ptf7619c.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine. 2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7619c.Z # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7619c # rm /tmp/ptf7619c Alternatively, SLS ptf7619c may be installed in quiet mode, that is, without displaying the release notes and asking for installation confirmation. To do this, use these commands: $ su Password: # uncompress /tmp/ptf7619c.Z # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7619c all # rm /tmp/ptf7619c 3. Reboot the system after installing this SLS package. The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in: /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7619/install/ptf7619.txt Removal Instructions -------------------- 1. As root, remove the SLS package using these commands: $ su Password: # pkgrm ptf7619 2. Reboot the system after removing this SLS package.
