Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7704a, the UnixWare 7.1.1 Crash
Utility and Dumpcheck Supplement, addresses the following problem:

    Hang in bcheckrc (dumpcheck).  crash will report the following
    and then hang:

    kvbase claims to be 00000000 assuming c0000000
    Nengine claims to be -1069306488 assuming 1
    Ncg claims to be 0 assuming 1

Software Notes and Recommendations
----------------------------------

SLS ptf7704a should only be installed on these releases:

        UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.1


SLS ptf7603k MUST be installed before ptf7704a can be installed.

Note that SLS ptf7704a supersedes ptf7407c.  It is not necessary to
remove this SLS prior to the installation of ptf7704a.


Installation Instructions

-------------------------

1. Download the ptf7704a.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine.

2. As root, uncompress the file and add the package to your system
   using these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # uncompress /tmp/ptf7704a.Z
        # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7704a
        # rm /tmp/ptf7704a

Alternatively, this SLS package may be installed in quiet mode, that is, 
without displaying the release notes and asking for installation 
confirmation.  To do this, use these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # uncompress /tmp/ptf7704a.Z
        # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7704a all
        # rm /tmp/ptf7704a

3. There is no need to reboot the system after installing this package.

The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in

        /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7704/install/ptf7704.txt


Removal Instructions
--------------------

1. As root, remove the package using these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # pkgrm ptf7704

2. There is no need to reboot the system after removing this package.
